In short: HAUNTED: Are You Alone? has been available in the Meta Horizon Store since 9 October 2026, in version 0.2.0. The same questions always come up before you buy. Here are twelve answers. Each one names its source: the store (as of 10 October 2026) or the studio’s own information.
1. Which headsets does HAUNTED run on?
The store lists Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. Source: store.
On Quest 2, you see your room in black and white in passthrough; on Quest 3 and 3S, in colour. According to the store, the game content is the same on all devices.
2. How big is the download?
Installed, the game takes up around 410 MB. The store states the required storage space as around 563 MB. Source: store.
That’s small for a Quest game. If you’re low on free storage, you still need to allow for around 563 MB.
3. Do I need the internet?
No. The store states that no internet connection is required. Source: store. According to the studio’s privacy policy, progress is saved locally. Source: studio.
4. Is there advertising?
According to the store: no in-app advertising. Source: store.
5. Which languages are available?
Only English. Source: store. The story lives on phone calls and whispered lines. If you struggle to understand English, you’ll miss out on atmosphere.
6. What age is the game suitable for?
PEGI 18, with a note of “Extreme Violence”. Source: store. The studio explicitly says: not suitable for children. Source: studio. Every time you start it, a two-page content warning appears about loud noises, flashing lights, low lighting, gore and jump scares.
7. Who else should not play it?
According to the studio, pregnant people and people with epilepsy, heart conditions or anxiety disorders. Source: studio. This is not a formality. The scares are loud, sudden and physical.
8. How long does the story take?
According to the studio, 25 to 35 minutes. The three arcade modes are endless. Source: studio. There are also two secret chapters and New Game+ after the credits.
9. Can I play with friends?
No. HAUNTED is a single-player game; the store lists “single user”. Source: store. Watching along is of course possible. The studio describes the game as a good “show it to a friend” title. If you stream, you can use Hide my room: instead of your real room, viewers see a virtual padded cell. Source: studio.
10. Can I play seated?
No. The store lists room-scale and standing. Source: store. According to the studio, the story requires turning, leaning forward, crouching, crawling, swinging and grabbing. Source: studio.
11. Hands or controllers?
Both. The store lists controllers and hands. Source: store. With controllers, according to the studio, there’s strong haptics for scares, grabs and hits. With hand tracking, in some moments you literally reach out with your own hands.
12. What if I get stuck somewhere?
There are two buttons for that. After every death, the game-over screen offers Help, i.e. an explanation of how to get through the chapter. From the third death in the same chapter, Skip chapter also appears. Source: studio. All chapters are also open from the start via chapter select.
